Newsletter - Kitten Season Has Arrived in the Okanagan

Kitten Season is in Full Bloom

Kitten season is upon us and the added challenges of COVID-19 have made an already busy time of the year more challenging. At this time of year, OHS sees an increase in the number of litters as female cats are in heat. This year, perhaps due to the wet weather, kitten season was delayed, but not for long.

Strays are being reported and captured around the region by our team of trained volunteers. Calls are coming in from Vernon, Armstrong, Lumby, Coldstream, Lake Country, Peachland, Penticton, Oliver, Osoyoos, and Kelowna,

As a result, we are looking for more volunteers all over the Okanagan to help foster these kittens until they are ready to go to their forever homes.

We are 100% foster home-based and rely on our volunteers to house cats and kittens before and after surgery through to adoption.
