While she might be a bit shy at first, Tux quickly warms up to interactive play and will happily accept treats straight from your hand. She’s still learning to enjoy being picked up or petted for long stretches, but with a little patience, she’s sure to blossom into a devoted and affectionate companion.

BAGHEERA

Bagheera (or Biggy) is bonded with his brother Binx. Biggy is super friendly; he is happy to walk right up to greet you when you come home and will make himself comfortable whenever you are. He loves belly rubs and all kinds of people. His temperament is great with kids and families.

BEAU
2 year old male Cane Corso
This playful, energetic guy is extremely attentive to learn commands, very responsive and smart. He is extremely treat motivated especially when learning new tricks. He already knows wait, sit, down, paw, and release! Beau’s favorite things are chewing his bones, fetch, playing with large ropes, tug and hide and seek.

Weighing in at 130lbs, this gentle giant has never displayed aggressive tendancies towards other dogs, he just hasn't had the chance to make many canine friends - this is something his trainer is willing to help support. He lives with an older cat and would do ok with proper introduction.

Beau has lived in a busy and active home with five kids ranging from 9-19. He really loves his people and does best when he has all his needs met prior to being left unattended for extended periods of time. He is very respectful in the home and has not been destructive.

Beau does need work with his leash manners and recall. He is looking for a special someone to help him with these areas of improvement, and we would support him and his adopter with training sessions for his leash work. Must haves for this big boy are a confident handler, a fully fenced yard, and lots of love to give him!

Meet cute and sweet little Skittles, this petite lady is timid but with time gets more comfortable and playful! She really likes to play, her foster can show you a few toys that she loves! She’s very sweet. She is a little nervous of fast movement so would be better for a single person or calm household with no dogs or young children. She just needs a little extra patience for her true purrsonality to shine. She is quirky and pretty funny too and will keep you entertained. Skittles is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. CALLIE

Callie is a sweet Callico who loves to rub her face on your hand. She loves food, as evidenced by her slightly rounder shape! She likes to sleep on the bed with you and is a purr machine when you pay her attention. She likes to chase toys around which keeps her busy!

BELLE

Our easy going, social and lovable Belle is ready for a new home! Belle is a small, all black cat with wonderful yellow eyes that remind us of mirabelles, hence her name. As we got her to foster, she was timid like a fawn but we managed to socialize her. She likes to live independently but also has gotten attached to one person who takes care of her. And with that person, she will be very comfortable and enjoys to follow to figure out what`s happening. She also loves to explore, climb, chase toys or gallop like a little horse – she really enjoys her cat life. She loves to be pet and to get neck scratches, she is not yet used to being carried, but this is also improving step by step. JELLY BEAN

Jelly Bean (JB) came into OHS care when she was found outside on her own in Kelowna and sadly no one has claimed her. She is now ready and willing to be adopted to live a safe and happy life as an indoor cat. She is approximately 9 years old but at times acts like a kitten. She enjoys curling up on the couch beside you. JB is quick to purr and loves Temptations. She does have a sensitive stomach so will have to be on gastro food. She does not like dogs and suggest that she be an only cat household. She may get along with other cats but would have to be introduced slowly and carefully.
She is a good little girl who just wants to be loved, petted and given all the attention she deserves. JB is fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. Black Dynamite, affectionately called Dyna, is a sweet cat who enjoys eating, napping, splashing in water, and eating some more. She loves looking at the birds outside and playing “camouflage” on any item of black clothing. She can be quite chatty and will let you know when she wants fresh water or another helping of food. She is fairly independent and likes her space but enjoys spending time with her humans. She is the perfect cat for someone who needs a fur friend who isn’t super high maintenance. She is not a fan of small children (teenagers are fine) and would be best suited for a home with no other pets as she is particular about having her own space. BORIS
6-7 month old Staffy X male dog
Seeking a foster or foster to adopt for this handsome, low key guy. Boris is a super sweet, calm and affectionate pup. He enjoys car rides and travels well. Some of Boris’s favorite things are playtime, chew toys, being with his people, and playing with his sister. Boris is house trained and good in a kennel - he will sometimes let out little whines to remind you that he’s there.

Boris is still learning and will need a foster who can work with him on his leash manners. Boris loves to dig and can be destructive in a yard as he is not easily distracted once he gets his paws going. Boris would love a fenced yard to play in!

Given his size, Boris would do well in a home with adults or a family with dog-savvy kids aged 10+. He is very submissive when playing with his sister, so he would likely do well with a proper introduction with another balanced dog in the home. We are not sure how Boris would do around cats as he hasn’t met one yet. He will be neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped prior to foster placement.

MAC
1 year old male Bull Terrier X dog
This young pup loves to give hugs and kisses, a whole 35 lbs of puppy love! Mac is very obedient, loves car rides, bones and spending time with his people. He loves learning new tricks, especially if you have treats, he takes them very gently. Mac loves to cuddle in bed if there is room but also sleeps well in his own bed on the floor. He is working on recall and does well with his current foster, must be those big ears!

He easily gets excited and is a strong boy so a home with kids age 8+ would be ideal. He lives with big and small dogs and could potentially join a home with other canine friends following a proper introduction. He has no experience with cats. Mac is still learning to walk on the leash without pulling and will need someone who can continue to work with him. He will benefit from a large fenced yard, and an adopter who is willing to continue his training.

Hi, I’m Moose! I’m a low energy guy and I’m very sweet and affectionate. I love walks, naps, and being home in my safe space with my people. I don’t resource guard, and I’m happy to share my toys and treats with you. If you’re looking for a great companion dog who will always be by your side for pats and cuddles, look no further!

Meeting strangers and new things is hard for me. I have a strong prey drive and guard dog tendencies, but I am working on it. I’ve been in school with Polite Paws learning about how to meet new people and dogs politely. I’m looking for a forever person who can continue my training during my transition to help me learn that the world is not scary.

I much prefer my home environment to be predictable. I'm a bit of an antisocial guy and do better in small family units with no kids or other pets, just us! When I do meet new people, it’s important that we are introduced properly so I know that they are safe. I know this takes a little extra time and patience, but I promise I’ll make up for it by being the best friend you’ve ever had!

A few of Bella's favorite things are treats, her dino squeaky toy, a large fenced yard, and her Kong stuffed with peanut butter.

Bella enjoys socializing at the dog park, sleeping at the foot of the bed, and playing fetch. She loves attention from her people and will sometimes give a cute gentle nudge for pets. She loves her people so much she will be your shadow in the house moving room to room with you.

She is an energetic girl and would do well with a younger dog in the home, with a proper introduction. When she wants to play, she will sometimes use her voice to get her canine friends' attention. She would also be content being your one and only. She’s used to being without kitties. She’ll play well with other dogs at the park, but will want you to herself for all the love at home.

Bella likes walking and hiking and is coming along well with leash training. She would thrive in an environment that is consistent, providing the daily exercise and love that she needs!

This friendly, funny, curious bunny is looking for a home where he can be King Bunny. He was rescued from the streets in Vernon earlier this year, in desperate need of medical care for his teeth and nails, and is now perfectly healthy, happy and hoppy! Rupert loves to explore his space and be picked up and pet for long periods of time. He is very confident, and would do best in a home where he is the only bunny, or possibly with another confident female bunny. Because of his confidence we would recommend a home with older children. HUDSON
Hudson is a charming 6-year-old male cat who absolutely loves people! He thrives on affection and will happily seek out pets, bunts, and scratches. If you’ve got a lap with a cozy pillow, you’ve got Hudson’s favorite spot! His soft, silky coat is a dream to pet while he snuggles in.

When he’s not on your lap, Hudson enjoys lounging on a heated blanket or curling up in a comfy cat bed. He’s also a playful guy, he loves catnip, chasing toys, and exploring tunnels and cubes.
